Mm. We can try, but whatever we imagine can never quite stand up to the moment we're faced with it. I thought I could handle it, but I faltered during the trials, as well.
The one thing we can count on is that these things are built on illusions. As real as it feels, even with the injuries that remain on us, what we see there is more like a dream, or a nightmare. So whatever happened when you fell into this trap, however many people were hurt... I'm sure the real people are somewhere safe, even now.
