Good news, someone showed me another scrolly-thing like you did last week. Secret source. [ she will share with the group, but kate gets first rights ]
[ a real fucking bummer because it seemed like everything worked out in the end. but haha. ]
[ moving on, she pulls out what looks like a scrap of paper from a journal. the scrawl is messy. ]
[ it reads: ]
"ā€”ter what happened today, I don't think you could call this place safe by any stretch of the imagination. We've seen it react now in nearly a hostile way to our presence, and I don't know how long we can stay. Even so, the fact that it exists at all is beyond my expectation.
I suspect some of them want to reach out and make contact with the others, to ease their grief. I understand. But on the other hand, the cult realizing that this place existsā€”that there might be any space, no matter how small, that they cannot observeā€”would be catastrophic. What little safety and advantage we do have would be forfeit, and the cult is likely to wipe the slate clean and start over. And in truth, I have no proof that there's a way back.
So, is it worth hoping that they can keep a secret? Perhaps it is cruel, but I want to err on the side of caution."
I'm pretty sure I know what this is implying. And I don't.... want anyone to get their hopes up, or anything. I won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes. But... good info to have, right?
Maybe death is part of the magic bullshit going on here, and they're still alive somewhere? I don't know. I wouldn't even consider it.... except for the fact that Aerith was dead before we came here.
Like I said. Don't get your hopes up. [ she isn't ] But I think it might still be good to share this. Maybe someone in the house knows more about it.... or has found one of their own.
