I just wonder what we're doing here. We catch a monster, they die in a.... messed up gladiator type spectacle. The ones we don't catch, and even the ones we do but don't vote, they'll kill again.
But then again, the cult will keep summoning monsters. If we leave the other afflicted alone, they'll kill. If we take them out, someone else will get afflicted, and they'll kill. The cult can summon four monsters at a time, and we already have two afflicted still out there from past trials.
Yeah. I understanding wanting to preserve our numbers, and make sure we have a vote, but.... there's the other side of it. If we can't stop them from killing, what do we do about them?
[ is it crueler to let them live knowing they're essentially a prisoner to their own body? ]
I mean, you know I'm on board to try. [ but she doesn't think it will be that easy ] We can ask for some of those things for next week, and try it with our suspect.
Heheh. [ yuffie grins at that!! gardening isn't so bad, actually, when you're stuck in one (ish) place ]
How about tomorrow we coordinate with the house on what to ask? I mean, Kanda probably won't go for it, I'm just warning you now. But I think the rest would be at least willing to try.
Maybe they would be, but... I wonder if some discretion would be wiser.
If there are some who would rather eliminate the threat, then advertising where that "threat" will be, and the ways in which they'll be incapacitated... it could invite more violence.

[ tilting her head. kanda really just quietly gave mathis a wholeass crisis in the corner while everyone was distracted. ]
... I don't think there should be... The hair we examined was related to Marina's case, and Caelus was the sole culprit.
[ me shaking like did pixi just try really hard to get scaped...... what even happened today ]

If it's between the two of them.... I think it's probably Robin.
[ which sucks!!! hello!!! ]

I'm not close enough to Robin to feel comfortable pressing her on the subject, but we may find out soon enough.

[ says yuffie, but she looks particularly unhappy ]

[ studying her... ]
Is there something in particular that's troubling you?

[ there doesn't seem to be a right or best thing from where yuffie's standing ]
And the afflicted. I think we need to think about what they want. [ yuffie recalls how camille said she wished she had been killed sunday ]

[ lifts her chin at that. ]
... Yes. I think a lot of us have made assumptions about that...

Restraining them on Thursdays, using sleeping medicine... Something to ensure that they won't be a threat while we find a solution.

But that's still a big risk.

[ slightly offended!! (but not for real) ]

... I did have some ideas. Things I'd brought up to Camille, even though...
[ ... camille might have just been humouring her. ]

[ camille probably was humoring her, but yuffie has enough tact not to say that. ]

And I had thoughts about where and how to seal someone for a night. We'd probably need rope, or... chains and a padlock, though.

[ hmm ]
It may not be enough to hold them. But we can always ask, I guess.
no subject
[ a pause, and she nods. ] It seems safer than leaving them to hurt someone else. And it might give everyone some peace of mind.

[ just like they all could, really ]
Or we could phrase it a different way. Ask for rope or sleeping medicine or-- well, like, whatever, for trials. When people start to go bonkers.
