[ After we've gotten our clothes and items back, Kate can be found by the stream, changed into her regular clothes.

There's a white robe hanging from a nearby tree branch, apparently drying after being washed. While she waits, Kate sits on a rock by the stream and peers into the water. From behind, she probably looks like an ordinary girl. ]

[segnale]

[nona's also back in her normal clothes, though when she sees someone peering into the water, she walks on over.]

Oh, careful! There are leeches in there...

[sootprints]

Ah... yes, don't worry. I don't plan on swimming in there.

[ she will turn to face her... with her non-face. hi. ]

[segnale]

[gives a little start because she was not expecting that









but don't be rude nona don't be rude don't stare this is probably normal somewhere out there—]

... That's good! What were you doing, then? Looking for something?

[sootprints]

[ you know what, fair. she'll give her a moment to process what she's looking at. ]

I'm waiting for the laundry to dry. [ her single white robe. ]

And I think I saw a fish in there...

[segnale]

[ ! ]

Fish? Really?

[goes to join her in peering into the water]

I was hoping for maybe some kind of food source that wasn't rats or really suspicious meals possibly made by ghosts...

week 0, monday

[segnale]

[hewwo kate... nona bounds over to her when she sees her.]

Hi, Kate! Apparently you can request things from the... cult members supervising us? It sounds like they might be able to get us a fishing rod, although they don't think the fish are safe to eat.

Ah... really? That's all right, I was able to make one...

[sootprints]

... They're what?

[segnale]

Well, I don't know if they're unsafe, exactly, but Famine seemed to think it was a bad idea with the leeches...

[sootprints]

... I don't suppose Famine had any better ideas.

[segnale]

Heh... I think they were more interested in judging my ideas than anything. But it sounded like they were still willing to assist, so they weren't all bad!

[sootprints]

They certainly have some odd ideas of their own. I'm not sure what to think of them...

... Famine especially, but all of them, really.

Week 0, Friday

[sootprints]

[ Over by the pyre, there is a second, smaller, darker stream of smoke rising up into the air...

And beneath that, Kate can be found standing by the bulletin board, looking at these two posters. The smoke is coming, of course, from her head, as she gazes silently at them. ]

[segnale]

[...

nona approaches, slowly but with enough noise so as to not startle kate hopefully.]

Kate... are you all right?

[sootprints]

I'm fine.

[ her tone is even, but clearly tense. ]

But we need to find out what's happened and why.

[segnale]

... Yes, we do. For their sake, and for our own. [WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT...] Was everything okay with you last night?

[sootprints]

... Yes.

I was making crafts with Laudna and Lavi. All of our housemates were there, except for Yuffie. I remember Kanda went to bed early, and the rest of us turned in a little later.

... What about you?

[segnale]

[she nods.]

Yuffie was outside with me and some others, last night. Everything was peaceful, except for the weird fog... Karma went to bed, but some of us were planning on staying up to stand watch.

week 1, monday

[segnale]

[out along the island shore... nona is looking a little emotional here, but she turns to kate with a smile.]

Hi, Kate! Ever been to the beach before?

[sootprints]

[ ohh. she stops to stare out at the water. ]

Not in a long time... and nothing as big and warm as this.

What about you, Nona?

[segnale]

Well, my homeland's on an island, so... it's pretty nostalgic.

[sootprints]

Oh, that's right. It must be nice to see something familiar, with how strange everything is around here.

[segnale]

It is nice! Although I guess it makes me kind of sad, too.

[sootprints]

... I'm sure you'll get to go back there soon.
