[ a morph..... is that what she is? she used to be something else? now she "mimics a human". this leaves her with more questions than anything else. she's quiet for a little. she also doesn't understand why kate is talking in the third person here. she kind of grapples with what to say here. then, just straight up?: ]
But you weren't just a shapeless fairy before, were you? Because that jerkface [ yes she's still a kate stan ] was going on about how special you were.
The reason I can remember a life outside of the manor is because, unlike the morphs, which take on a human shape after entering the house... I already had a human form to begin with.
It's hard to say, exactly... I suppose it was a few weeks before I felt like I could be comfortable around anyone, and a few more before I started speaking to people truthfully about my goals. I was afraid of being discovered, and for a while, it seemed like everyone was an enemy.
Don't blame ya for being cautious. But I know it can get lonely.
[ and before she can continue talking, time for trauma dump yayyyy ]
[ there's some context she'll understand, too -- that sonon and yuffie were there on a mission to get the ultimate materia shinra was working on. that this materia doesn't exist, because shinra has decided to massacre their own people by dropping the plate of sector 7 in midgar right into the slums. sonon and yuffie were racing to warn people to help them escape before all this happened --- and at the end, after watching sonon die, yuffie arrives just in time to see thousands of people die in flames. too late to save anyone

A morph is...
A kind of fairy, I think. They live in the woods outside of the manor, and they look like shadows without any distinct shape.
When exposed to other living creatures, they may try to mimic their shape... and when they do, a shadow is formed.

I'm sorry... That's a terrible way to lose a partner.
