[ ...? goes over to those chairs to take a look behind them. ]

Kate-chan...?
drymonster: (moltar get the lava)

[personal profile] drymonster 2025-05-31 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
[ nods. ]

What are you doing back there? [ ... ] The floor's kind of gross in here.
drymonster: (and i'm like "what's up with that?")

[personal profile] drymonster 2025-05-31 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah... Well, I think everyone here is already used to meeting people from different worlds, so they probably won't be too weird about things, if you're worried about that.

[ sits down in one of these chairs, kind of sideways with his arms crossed over the seat back so he can keep facing her.

sighs. ]

If this is following the same format as before we’re probably going to be stuck here all weekend until they arbitrarily throw us into different terminals or something.
drymonster: ('cause... you weren't alive back then)

Mm, it'sβ€” You know how you can have a bunch of boats headed for different places docked at different piers at the same port? It's kind of like that but for airplanes, and the places you wait are all inside.

Also there are usually like, restaurants and gift shops and stuff inside.
drymonster: (this can't be during your sweeps)

The village also had zero toilets outside of the one in the haunted house and that one outhouse, so as crappy as this place is, it's got at least one improvement.

...And fewer leeches, so. Two improvements.
drymonster: (we don't really care)

[personal profile] drymonster 2025-06-01 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, believe me, I've still got plenty of complaints.

...Seriously though, I can't believe we're getting dragged back into this again.
drymonster: (i don't have any lines in this show)

[personal profile] drymonster 2025-06-02 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Wait, really? It's been like, a year for me.
drymonster: (did you say prance-a-tron??)

[personal profile] drymonster 2025-06-02 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
[ you and me both, kate ]

Pretty much, yeah... Jeez, they really couldn't even give you a week to recover?
drymonster: (well that wasn't very good)

[personal profile] drymonster 2025-06-02 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
It sounded like it was pretty fast for some people from some of these other things too, so I don't think it's just you.

[ shakes his head. ]

I just thought that meant they happened more recently than ours, but apparently not.
drymonster: (shut up walltar)

[personal profile] drymonster 2025-06-02 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I guess it makes sense that it can happen, but what was the point...

Did they even have a reason for bringing us in particular? It's not like there weren't plenty of other people involved.
drymonster: (can it be a conventional earth weapon)

[personal profile] drymonster 2025-06-02 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Right? You'd think there'd be some common thread, but I don't see one. Maybe they really just RNGed it.
drymonster: (no you know what i told it wrong)

[personal profile] drymonster 2025-06-02 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oh... it's like putting names in a hat or rolling dice. Leaving it up to random chance. Just the more high tech version of that.
drymonster: (it had everything)

[ he blinks. huh. a year isn't much to him, usually, but everything that had happened in scawwy almost feels like another lifetime at this point. in the time he'd been there, he'd changed a lot and been braver and more proactive and more concerned with other people than he ever had been, but he'd always figured he'd just end up falling back into the same old traps and going back to his old self when he got back home. and after a while, he kind of had, if not as bad as before.

kate had already been all those things before she'd even gotten there. she didn't need eight weeks of hell to turn her into a decent and productive person. and she was still a kid!! knowing she actually kind of thinks he's dependable and worth respecting makes him feel like the fakest bitch in the world (and not in the usual good way). ]

Haha... well, I'm glad. It does feel better to have someone you've already spent a lot of time living with here, huh? At least you don't have to keep your guard up all the time that way.
